Hey everyone -
Just a quick question. We have several AT&T (labeled BellSouth) type boxes in the neighborhood here, a suburb of Atlanta.
1) We have the small Bellsouth one (picture #2). These are simply a small tap where the pairs are spliced. (i.e. the pairs come in, have a butt splice, and go back out to my house with a tag.) These exist one per house.
2) We have the normal bigger grey cabinets (in the first picture), that have the actual copper wire junctions.
3) We have the green "cooler" type boxes are about every 5-8 houses.
We can only get 18M UVerse here, so I know they don't have any fiber or such. I'm just curious about all those green "cooler" type boxes. Are those old legacy FITL equipment cabinets or something? They don't belong to Comcast; a lot of them are labeled "BellSouth".
