I am trying to trace an intermittent problem with my service. When pinging the next hop router, I am having a >5% packet loss; does that mean there is a problem with the line (I believe it does)? I have been escalated to Tier 2 CAT, and am still not making progress.
The steps I took were:
Ping myself
ping RG
ping public I/F of RG
Ping next hop router
Is the connection between the RG and the next hop a pt-pt connection, or can multiple DSLAM ports be bridged/router together?
The things they have been looking at are:
AM interference (anyone have a reference how to read this (uv realtime?)?
bridge taps
The last guy moved me to all cat 5 rather than coax, and I am still have pixelization and packet loss.
