i think the last time i was here was when i was upgrading my adsl :). aka sbcglobal
anyways my contract ended so I spoke to retention and decided on 18mbps.
i figure its $1.55/mbps @ 18mbps or $2.08/mbps @ 12mbps. decided on the upgrade since I was hitting close to 12mbps 11.45mbps on speedtest or high 11.xx on speakeasy
on average from my tests i am getting 15.46mbps average or $1.74/mbps.
time for the q's and concerns
1-i noticed that speeds are already faster, but they are not consistent and this may be due to the various sites im using ie speedtest vs speakeasy. will speeds speed up/stable over a few days or should they be max since i assume att just capped the max speed per ip depending on what service an individual signed up for?
I remember when upgrading from 1.5mbps->3mbps a tech told me to keep my modem on for a few days and that speeds would improve.
2-maximizing to 18mbps
wondering if tweaking any of my modem settings will help improve speeds. im on that famous 2wire modem 3600HGV
edit: i did the dsl reports test and i got pretty bad speed which i didn't include.
palo alto
it was worse before 13mbps, but that was cause i was using an la site and the sf one is not working
