I had Uverse in 2010, and got rid of it shortly after when I was able to get Comcast. It is stilled offered, and I get Uverse phone service. While I did not like Uverse internet nor TV, I would be interested if AT&T offers some kind of expand fiber to the curb/premise service. Based on what they are doing in front of my house, I think that might be happening.
Over the last few days, a survey team put up flags in front of my house, then they trenched yesterday and dug pits (about 3X4 foot square and about 5 to 6+ feet deep) about every other lot (lots are large with about 150-300 feet of frontage, so these pits are about every 500 feet or so.)
At first I figured AT&T was just doing a long haul fiber run, but there are large utility poles on the same right of way, and I think AT&T already has fiber on those poles (it feed the Vrad that serviced my home.) So it seems if it was just a long haul run of fiber, they would have gone aerial. And the pits do not seem like they would make sense for just a long haul of fiber.
Based on what I described above, does anyone here know what service AT&T might be installing? OR does this just seem some kind of long haul run and probably won't be any service addition offer to me?
