We have a few discounts on the bill and the TV one is dependant on having HBO. I contacted the social media team to find out what would happen if I got rid of HBO so I could get a 3rd receiver for my Mom's room since she's ill and would like to watch TV in her room if she doesn't feel like getting to the den. My thinking was getting rid of HBO would make it to where the fee for the 3rd receiver wouldn't make the bill go over what we could and felt comfortable paying.
The lady said she could wave the $49 fee for the 3rd box but nothing could be done about the monthly fee and that if I removed HBO we would lose our entire TV discount and she made no effort to try and restructure anything. She just offered to send me a link for online offers and said the waiving the $49 fee for the box offer might pop up on there for us sometime soon since I said I didn't want to add another receiver right now. I just added one last month and paid the $49 dollar fee so our bill for Oct is about $200. I had to call to get a tech visit out before ordering the box because our SN Margin kept going below 11 and I didn't want to get a wireless receiver and having my viewing getting interrupted frequently. They installed the new modem which got brought on the $7 mo fee which I forgot about since we hadn't gotten a new modem in 2 years and it wasn't mentioned before installing anything. We ended up getting another bigger DVR too the 500GB one since we had the smaller one since the modem had been replaced last and because the new (refurb) modem wasn't agreeing with the old DVR.
We have U300+HD+HBO, 18Mbps internet and Unlimited Phone. With taxes our bill is about 150 a mo with taxes which I'm not sure if it's a good deal or not. To me it was at the time when I called earlier this year but now that it's time to add a 3rd receiver I'm frustrated. If AT&T hadn't purchased DirecTV I might have looked into seeing how much it would have been for that then the phone and internet in a bundle.
