A lady stopped by my house (SW Indianapolis) Tuesday saying they are out letting people know about AT&T upgrading their lines to Fiber. She noted the new network can accommodate "18mbps per device, not per house." I work in IT so I know a little about this. When I started digging in to what that actually means and how is it accomplished, she had to admit she didn't really know, it's just what her boss tells her. She also admitted I know far more about this stuff than she does. Anyone out there able to explain how they are running these lines? How do they dedicate speed per device? Is it Fiber end-to-end (to the premise)? She was very nice. I almost feel bad for her that I am requesting more technical knowledge than she can deliver. She is selling locking us in to a promotional rate for the service as part of them letting us know about the upgrade.
