I've been with AT&T since it was SBC and have been fairly happy with them as an isp. I had a 12 mbps package, and most of the time I could hit 13 on the speed test. I received a letter saying I could double my speed for $5 more/month so I jumped at the chance. They were only able to boost me to 18 Mbps, and the highest I've reached on the speed test is 16.5. Most of the time I'm lucky to hit 16. I called AT&T & they said that 12.1 Mbps is acceptable for an 18 Mbps line... Has anyone else heard this malarkey?
