Hi,
I live in a ruralish area (less than 2 miles from a "city" environment) but we do not have any type of broadband internet service. I have been talking to Time Warner to try and get them to bring our group of 17 homes broadband and i am still in talks with them but they are estimating it will cost $210k to do so and they are looking for a 7 year ROI which i do not see as feasible so i think it is just a matter of time before they tell me that :-/
The reason i am posting the topic and in this section is because AT&T has pulled funds from the FCC to do exactly this, bring internet to rural areas from the Connect America Fund. I have already checked the FCC map and this group of homes in the eligible section and AT&T already services us for phone only.
Does anyone know who to contact, phone number, name of the department, anything (if you have ever tried to contact AT&T you will know the pain) in order to try and get the ball rolling to have them do the site study and yada yada yada that they have to do in order to bring in the broadband?
Thanks
Mike
