Hey there,
I'm actually a rookie Wire Tech, and am about to get 18 MB IPDSL installed in my new apartment. There's a crossbox and a IPDSLAM in the parking lot of it, so my loop length will be less than 1000 feet. I've already opened the crossbox and saw that it says IPDSLAM in and out on the DAVAR and not VRAD in and out like most of our crossboxes around here say. The funny thing is that it looks just like dozens of VRAD cabinets that I've seen all over the place, so what's the real difference? I did notice that the cables on the DAVAR did not say BFN or AFN like pairs out of a VRAD would say, but that's about it.
Also, how can I get bonded pair on IPDSL? I asked some of our senior techs about it and I just get a "we don't do that here."
Any suggestions on who to contact to make that happen? Or am I just SOL?
Thanks for reading,
Dave
