How to Setup a Second router behind the AT&T NVG589\ Cascaded Router Option

Hi, Here is a background of my home network that I have: I have 2 Cisco 2811 routers and a few Cisco multi-layer switches and access layer switches. They are all on the 10.10.0.0/16 subnet. I have my own DHCP, DNS, etc running on that network. My main Cisco router that I refer to as my "Internet" router since I am trying to connect this router to my AT&T NVG589 device (which connects to the Internet). My AT&T "network" is on the 192.168.1.0/24, which I believe is the default (my gateway is .254). So I took one of my ports on my Cisco "Internet" router and connected it to the NVG589. I assigned the Cisco port a static IP of 192.168.1.253/24, and obviously I can ping between each other. Now I have a default route on my Cisco devices that points to the port that is connecting to the NVG589. But my issue currently is that I can't ping from a client on the 10.10.x.x to a client on the 192.168.1.x network. I believe it's because the NVG589 doesn't have a static route/doesn't know how to route traffic with a destination for 10.10.x.x so it drops the packets. I have been searching all over the NVG589 admin page for a place to add a static route and I am pretty sure you can't. But I Google the problem and it was recommended to enable the Cascaded Router feature (Go to Home Network --> Subnets & DHCP --> Cascaded Router is near the bottom). I have tried: Cascaded Router Address: 10.10.0.9 (which is the second interface on my Cisco "Internet" router) Network Address: 10.10.0.0 Subnet Mask: 255.255.0.0 I have tried multiple times (with different IPs, etc) but I keep getting the error: "nexthop address cannot be reached with current network config Address must not be on network (10.x.x.x)" So I am not allowed to use a 10.x.x.x subnet? I have even went as far as changing the ports on my Cisco Internet router to something like 192.168.2.x/24 but I still get the error: "nexthop address cannot be reached with current network config". I just can't seem to get this Cascaded Router feature to work. I have called AT&T support but they had no clue how to work this feature :( . I hope I made sense, this was much harder to explain in text than I thought. Thanks!
