For several years, I had Mac OS X wireless performance issues on my old RG gateway. I would get near my MAX Plus up/down speed 18 via Ethernet but never more than 10Mbs on wireless. The same speed test on my Android phone via wireless would also be near MAX Plus speed.
I configured an old wireless router to be my wireless access point, confirmed the Mac was near MAX Plus speed and forgot about this issue until yesterday. The old RG was failing so the tech came you and responded w a new RG (WIRE2 black slim box). Now w the new gateway I'm getting the same issue as before -- Macs at full speed on Ethernet, aboutabouthalf speed on wireless and my phone gets near full speed on wireless. I have confirmed the issue on mountain lion and Yosemite (same behavior ).
Any suggestions about the cause and ideas for remedy? I can always hook up the old router again but now that I'm seeing the issue on two separate RG hw and two different OS X versions makes me v curious to know what is going on.
Thanks for any ideas.
