Hello all, first time poster here. I am very thankful in advance for any knowledge you guys can share with me.
I am looking at two new homes. Both are new construction in Euless, TX. One has copper to the home (I'm assuming bonded pair which is what I have now in Frisco, TX... meh) - this is a really small development only about 20 homes and I'm worried ATT will never want to invest the dough for FTTP for such a small development. Max speed available at house A is 18 meg.
The other is only a mile or two away and has gigapower available and is a FTTP neighborhood (OMG score!) - lol so my wife thinks I'm nuts for making it such a big deal of it, but I'm sorry it is important!!! Most of the immediate area is Verizon FiOS serviced but I'm under the impression they have basically stopped expanding that network (any truth to that?). I don't need any more than 45 meg for sure, or 18 meg really and truly, but I love the fact that the houses infrastructure is made up of the good stuff and I'm convinced the FTTP neighborhood will have lower latency and just be an overall higher quality connection.
So I guess my question is - is ATT planning to roll out FTTP to FTTN areas (in north texas specifically), or are they focusing on FTTP in brand new areas with no service at all. What are the odds this development goes to the good stuff in the next few years? Also, is Verizon done rolling out FiOS to new places? Thanks all!
