I have business class uverse ADSL2+ and I am wondering if there are any custom upload speed options available? The only plan I can get is 6/1, but the upstream always syncs at 766. Looking around on here seems to show every one with a 1mbs up plan syncs around this speed and those with the 1.5mbs up seem to sync at just 1? Does anyone actually get the full upstream bandwidth? I never get errors on my upstream, but normally get one FEC every other second or so (about 30k a day). So because of that, I am not sure if I should try to get the 12/1.5 plan. Strangely my neighbor which is fed off of the same pole, qualifies for 18mbs and uverse TV.
The tech that installed me thought it was strange that I was getting adsl because he said the RT where I was connected at had a VRAD in it. Should I try to push to get provisioned for vdsl instead maybe?
I have no idea what my loop length is. Using google maps, from my house to the RT is about 8k feet. However I don't know if my line continues down the road and then terminates into an aerial terminal (with a broken case and trash bag wrapped around it and stuffed full of bird's nests) and then comes back to me (if that is true I would be about 10k feet).
When the installer first plugged his test box into my line, the loop estimate had me at 8k ft. I was like "oh I am at 8k ft?", he then said he would run the "official test" for length, after that, it came back saying 4.1k ft. So don't know. Downstream attenuation on my modem stats is 34db and up is 19db.
