Where to start? Well, plain old dry line DSL Direct went to pot 11-2012 at which time I spent comical MONTHS trying to get billing errors and poor service corrected. When that was done a short while later same old same old! Crap service and billing issues once again. After 5 months, service credits, threats to cancel etc. things got better again. Fast forward a couple of months and again, multiple truck rolls. Each tech saying something different. One says bad wires in the house. Swapped out and a couple days later same thing. Replacement modem. Truck roll. Tech takes the old modem and replaces the replacement saying it was defective. Over and over I am finally told that the only way to fix it is to go Uverse or change services to 3 meg service from 6 because 6 will never work. Of course, I had 6 for years. Well, Uverse installed. Service costs much more. It isn't much different than DSL --- especially with 3 known outages in less than 30 days. I call to cancel which was a terror. Online gave a phone number that ultimately after the menus tells me to call the number on my bill. That is because the number given by ATT on their own site is for a reseller who cannot help cancel. Oh, I forgot. They invalidated my rebate because of one of two things --- online says the account was cancelled. Calling them they say it was because the account was ordered over the phone and the rebate was only for online orders - which this was an online order.
Really I don't know why the hell anyone wants to do business with these idiots. Retention didn't even try to do anything to retain me. No offers or discounts. No offers of rolling a truck. Nada. Nothing! They really don't want business.
