Move Uverse Internet to new location - ATT failures

So I bought a house and wanted to move my uverse internet only to my new address (move is less than 1 mile on the same CO). My apartment was 300ft from CO on aDSL2 Uverse. My new house is on a VRAD using two bonded lines with VDSL. So I go to ATT's website and do the 'move your service' form. I get an error on the form and then a chat box pops up. I explain the error and say I want to move. I give my info and the person says to move my service I need to pay $100 for installation. I explain the house I am moving to already has a NID and a line installed to a jack (a home run) so no installation is required. I type I can plug in my modem myself. She says I have to pay for installation because the house is not setup and she sent a test signal. I asked her how show scanned the line without having a modem or device at the end to send a test signal. She change the subject and just kept repeating that the house needs installation for $100. Then she says I will also need to get a new modem and that I have to rent theirs for $7 a month. Again she says no way around the rental. Now I explain I have two adsl modems and 3 uverse modems already and I will not pay for a new one nor will I pay for rental. I ask again nicely to just move my service, I dont need installation, I will not pay extra for rental. She refuses to do anything and then says I can either pay the $100 or cancel. I said to cancel me and then she refused to cancel me. After an hour of talk to this jerk I disconnect. The next day I call cancellations and state I was told by their rep that I need to cancel my service. The guy asked why? I said the tech told me to either pay $100 to move my service or cancel and I am choosing to cancel. He actually seemed to care and said he would fix everything if I did not cancel. He immediately said he will take off the $100 installation and give credit for 1 year of modem rental = $84. No argument needed. Then he says the 25 meg is $45 a month. I tell him that I just want my same $28 a month internet only. He asks if I want TV and I say no. So then he says he will put me on the "50% off plan" for 18 megs at $28 a month. I agreed, but he said a tech still had to come out but it would be free. I said fine and that call was less than 10 minutes. -- ...brought to you by Carl's Jr.
