When I had U-verse installed several years ago, I got a VIP1225 DVR. It was always laggy and slow to repsond to button presses on the remote, and sometimes locked up completely and output a black picture until I rebooted it. Last year I finally had enough, and they sent a tech out who replaced it with another VIP1225. On the other hand, I can fly through the menus and guide on my Cisco Wireless STBs. There's no lag at all, and I have no other issues with them.
I was wondering if it's possible to request a new DVR, preferably not another VIP1225, or would I be stuck with that same one? I'm not going to waste my time with another tech visit and lose my recordings if I'm just going to get the same crappy DVR. But I'll do it if I can get a better one. Thanks.
