I moved to a neighborhood without U-Verse in 2011 from one that had it. I don't acknowledge Comcast's existence, so I'm currently using U-Verse DSL and Dish. I'd really like to get off Dish and upgrade my Internet speed from 3Mbps, but I've had numerous phone reps and on-site technicians tell me "it's coming soon" for 4 years with no results. As of a year ago, they were "installing the equipment in your box...you should hear from them in a few weeks" according to a tech we had out to fix some line issues. That was after he stopped at our box to run tests and said the U-Verse network techs had a tent up and were installing/upgrading equipment. I've called numerous times since then with no luck. Instead, I deal with 1% packet loss on average.
There used to be a VRAD map on uverseusers.com, but that site is apparently dead in the water. Is there something similar around here that I haven't found yet? I have no real idea where "my" box is, so I have no idea if I'm just too far, or if they haven't actually upgraded my neighborhood, or if there's just a computer block that needs lifted. The phone techs are generally unwilling to help beyond a quick computer lookup, and the on-site techs don't seem to know anything outside of their domain. I get mail all the time telling me to sign up, but I can't!
