My Uverse was installed so that the remote gateway would provide wired phone service throughout the house. From what I can tell, the installation technician installed a phone and data wall plate, and ran wiring from that wall plate to distribute the wired internet and phone. The remote gateway makes it's data and phone connections to that wall plate.
The phone cable coming out of the Uverse gateway connects to one of the jacks on the phone and data wall plate. Will switching to Ooma be as simple as disconnecting the phone line coming out of the Uverse gateway and plugging it into the Ooma instead?
Would any changes be needed at the network interface device (NID) where the Uverse service enters the house?
Thanks in advance for any ideas on this.
