My parents had ATT for phone and DSL for years with few issues. In January/February of this year they switched to Uverse for Internet, TV, and phone. It worked well for a couple of weeks, but then incoming phone calls started being dropped. After 2-4 rings (heard on both ends, the caller's and my parents' phone), the line simply disconnects. Outgoing calls work fine.
I've turned off Uverse voicemail, as it was causing some confusion, but the problem remains. We've tried old phone sets and the problem is the same, so we know it's not the new phone. ATT sent a technician out who couldn't identify anything, but prior to the technician arriving, the person my dad spoke to at ATT described it as a "neighborhood problem". Nothing's been fixed, apparently, so they'll be calling ATT again, but I'd love to get some idea about what the heck is going on, if possible.
Thanks for any help.
