I was considering subscribing to U-verse TV + Internet. Right now homeowners in my condominium receives basic cable through a bulk billing contract. I just learned that the homeowners association may add internet to the contract. The cable company will not offer me a new customer promotional rate so U-verse 450 TV saves me about $40.00 per month over the cost of similar programming and equipment. When I priced out U-verse service through the AT&T website I did not see a charge for an RG. I do not want to order U-verse TV + internet and then cancel internet, because that will invalidate the promotional rate for TV. When I initially priced out Voice, 450 TV and internet I was offered 45Mbps down. My last quote showed a maximum of 24 Mbps down. According to an AT+T technician working in my subdivision, I am about 0.5 cable miles from the VRad. What equipment is provided if a subscriber orders U-verse TV only? I plan on ordering the DVR + two set top boxes. What is the likelihood of being able to receive 3 simultaneous HD streams?
Edit: I should add that if the HOA drags their feet on adding internet access, I can subscribe to 15 Mbps down directly through Earthlink cable for $29.95 per month for the first six months no contract. I already have a compatible modem.
