Good evening,
I have been a happy AT&T Uverse customer for a number of years. About a year ago, I changed my landline over to Uverse VoIP. I've been happy with the service but the cost is ridiculous. I've switched to Ooma and the unit is working well with my Uverse service.
However, I want to port over my phone number that I have had for 16years.
The folks at Ooma are telling me I have to order a dry loop from AT&T first.
Is that true?
If I am already a Uverse VoIP customer, I don't see why.
In any case, I am not willing to risk losing my internet for a few days just to keep my number. I cannot afford to be offline that long.
If It is too much hassle, I will just change my number.
I'm looking forward to the $38/mo savings.
Thanks for your responses.
