Our UVerse service enters the opposite end of the house from my home office, and I've found that even trying to extend the Wifi isn't giving me the speeds I want at my main computer. So I'm looking at options for improving the situation...
Wiring the house with Cat5 isn't really an option, so I was looking into using the unused coax in the house -- there's coax in the room with the NVG589 and in the room next to my office (so easy to rewire). I was looking into MoCA and then realized the NVG589 is capable of HPNA over coax...
I don't know enough about either of these to know which is the better option (with speed/throughput more important than $$ if we're talking less than $100 or so difference to set up).
With HPNA, would I connect the NVG589 directly to the coax outlet and then just an adapter at the office end? I know with MoCA I'd need adapters at both ends.
Is there a significant difference in terms of speed or stability?
Thanks,
Scott
