1) When placing the Motorola NVG589 into modified pass-through mode, and you want to open-up TCP Port 80 inbound for an internal webcam, is the port forwarding performed on the Motorola? Or, is it performed on your internal router? 2) In a traceroute, can you see the additional hop in the output when the Motorola NVG589 is in pass-through mode? 3) When you order higher bandwidth options, is the first-hop latency higher than say with a slower provisioned speed? Is the first-hop latency really that noticeable? Keep in mind I'm coming from DSL where I have no such first-hop latency and I am used to almost instant web page loading. 4) If I order Power (45 Mbps) or High Speed Internet 75 (75 Mbps), I assume I'll get the Motorola NVG589 and it will be pair-bonded via ADSL2+ or VDSL2. My question is, if I downgrade to say their Max service (12 Mbps) after my 12-month promo is up, will I be required to switch equipment? Or, will I be charged anything? Keep in mind, that I will be porting my deadline over to U-Verse. 5) What are the chances, if I qualify for Power at 45 Mbps that I'll qualify for High Speed Internet 75? 5) For now, I only plan on switching my Elite DSL and landline over to U-Verse. Let's say down the road I would like U-Verse TV. I run my own DHCP/DNS services on my local LAN segment. Am I correct to understand that the U-Verse DVR's require that you keep the Motorola NVG589 in DHCP mode? If that's the case, does anyone know of any instances where someone has successfully run a LAN segment with DHCP/DNS on it (i.e. 192.168.2.0/24) and their U-Verse LAN segment with its own DHCP/DNS on it (i.e. 192.168.1.0/24)? I see the following options: a) Segment it into VLAN's (requires routing and hardware). b) Maintain two separate physical networks (requires a router). c) Disable DHCP/DNS services on my 192.168.2.0/24 network and switch to static IP's. Thanks in advance for your help!
