Longtime lurker, first time poster. Thanks for having me.
---
I am closing on a condo in the heart of the city of Atlanta in a two story building, just a mile from the high rises. (For those who are from there, its in Va-Highland)
I worked with the devil... Errr, I mean Comcast to get their 50mbps (or so they say) service, but apparently my address does not exist to them.
So. Now, I am forced to deal with the 25mbps Uverse, which I am fine with. The problem is that the 25mbps Uverse does not exist here, nor does the 18mbps or 12mbps.
At&t is trying to sell me 6mbps "Uverse Internet MAX," which is clearly DSL. I haven't had internet advertised this slow since 2002. In addition, I lived in SC a couple of years ago where I got 18mbps Uverse for $30, this Internet MAX is $35!!!
Anyway, end of rant. My question is, does anyone have an idea why 6mbps is the fastest service offered when it is right in the middle of the city? I am quite curious as to why At&t can't offer anything better.
Zip: 30306
Thanks!
