Remember what happened to me last year?
I was on AT&T DSL only for 3 years and everything was fine.
I called Retention and they said they would give it to me for one more year at the same $19.95.
Then I even get a letter from AT&T saying thank you for signing up for another year and here's your terms: $19.95 a month.
But the first bill comes and it's full price.
I called them and oh someone forgot to put it in, pay the full price and next bill will be adjusted.
Next bill, same thing, full price.
Oh we don't know what happened let me transfer you to retention.
That's when retention tells me that NO ONE in retention should had given me another year for $19.95 because I have already gotten 3 years worth of service at $19.95.
The max is 2 years.
BUT WE at AT&T are nice and we want to keep your business so we will give you another year at $19.95.
Next bill was correct: $19.95 and I even received credit on my account and a check from AT&T to cover my over charges.
Then December of 2013 I get a letter saying your DSL is going away on January 30th 2014, sign up now for UVerse or if you don't, it will cost you so much installation fee plus equipment fee.
I see AT&T techs coming here all the time so I stopped one of them and ask him if DSL is going away here.
He said no.
So I call AT&T and they say the Tech doesn't know anything, you must get UVerse NOW or you will be without Internet on January 30th.
After that, it will cost you more to get UVerse.
Okay, after everything I gone through to get DSL renewed for a 4th year at $19.95, they hit me with this crap.
So I sign up for UVerse Internet only for $24.95 a month on a ONE YEAR contract and everything has been fine since then except
a few months ago when the price went up by about $2 a month BEFORE my ONE YEAR contract is up so what is the point of a ONE YEAR contract if AT&T can change it at anytime without YOUR WRITTEN PERMISSION, KIND of ONE SIDED Contract set up to FAVOR THEM
AND
DSL is still available here so AT&T LIED to me!
I didn't like that.
So now I am debating if I should stick with AT&T or not. It expires December 4th.
Furthermore, we are also looking to move by December 1st and as of now, we haven't set our mind in stone on a new place yet.
One place is AT&T and TWC only.
The other place is Verizon only.
Another place we are looking at I am not sure who serves that area.
So I don't want to commit to AT&T before we have a new place to move to.
Of course AT&T is bombarding me with emails and snail mail reminding me to renew my UVerse 6 MB down only internet before it expires December 4th.
Looking at the prices unless they are willing to do another year at the SAME current price, the prices for UVerse Internet only are high now.
