My wife talked to AT&T today & they want to change us to U-Verse Internet/DSL. FWIW I have previously spoken to them about this but decided to keep my POTS with DSL. But it sounds like AT&T is going to eventually force me to go with U-Verse.
I've been reading through the forum in an effort to learn more about this. What I gather is that one reason AT&T does not want to keep users on the old DSL system is because their equipment is getting old & parts are getting difficult to come by. However they can install new U-Verse equipment.
What is the advantage to AT&T to use U-Verse rather stick with the old DSL? Either way they have to spend money so why not just keep with the old DSL? IOW, what's in it for them? Does U-Verse equipment cost less to make or buy?
