I am one of the few who actually now have 1000/1000 fiber to the home.
Here is what I learned.
1. Three days of installation with two scheduled installation times where ATT didn't show or call. Beware.
2. All of the installers had never installed fiber before.
Need Cat 6 from outside fiber box to inside modem/router (gateway)
3. The Motorola NVG589 is a basic modem/router so don't bridge to another router unless you get an ASUS router. Apple cuts upload speed 50%.
4. Turn off ivp6 !!!!!!!!!!!!Let me repeat turn off ivp6!!!!!!! unless you want an unusable system.
5. Download speeds on wireless will be max at 600 even on AC to AC devices.
6. My wired computer numbers on a bridged ASUS AC87R are....
920 download, 940upload, and ping time 3msec.
