Multiple Dynamic IP addresses, OK?

I set up my NVG510 as bridge so I could avoid some of its peculiarities and use my own router. This is working fine. I added an Obi202 for VOIP which also seems to be working fine when used as my router. The Obi also has a bridge mode and obtains its own IP address from UVerse. I plug my main router into the Obi (in its bridge mode) and the main router will obtain another IP address from UVerse. Is it legitimate to obtain 2 DHCP IP addresses like this? One reason for asking is that although it works temporarily the OBi seems to lose its ability to register with the SIP servers. Today I found that I could not access the internet via the router and the OBi was not registering with the SIP servers even though I could access my devices internal web pages using the UVerse addresses.
