I am in a neighborhood where the 45mbps tier was advertised door-to-door a few years ago. When I search various other addresses in my neighborhood via ATT's availability site I don't see any of my neighbors as available for that tier. I am told by the online chat support that it's not available in my area.
However, for MY address it shows available on the availability site. When I upgraded from my old dsl plan to "uverse internet", I went from 3mbps to 12mbps. The tech who installed had trouble getting it setup and spent several hours at my house. In my neighborhood the telephone lines run from poles in the alley in the air to houses. He ended up replacing at least one of these lines (there are 2) and said the problem was that it was an old "straight pair" line.
I am happy with the 12/1.5 plan, but want faster upload.
Please see my stats attached from the NVG589 device. Does 45Mbps look reasonable?
