Hi guys,
I'm new to the forum and I was hoping for some help before I go to the direct forum.
I've been having random periods of slowdown on my wireless internet (at least 6 months, maybe a year now), but not my wired. Normal download speeds range from 1.3 to 2.2 megabytes/sec (will use bytes not bits throughout for convenience), but during the periods of slowdown that drops to around 150-200 kb/sec. Whenever I test from a wired connection during these periods, I get the usual speeds. Upload speeds are proportionally slow (I think around 1.5 megaBIT up when my connection is normal, iirc).
This happens about once a day (on average- not every day, and it doesn't seem regular) and lasts from a few minutes to a few hours.
During the periods of slow down, my ping to my router is 600+ ms, so I'm pretty sure it's some sort of wireless issue. I've examined my connection using inSSIDer, and it gives a link score of 100 (perfect score- does not detect any interfering wireless signals). My mom living in the next room has the same problem with her wireless, so I believe it's not specific to my wireless card.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
I have a 3800HGV-B router, and it's at least a few years old. I've been using neubot to try and gather some data- here are the past 5 days. This sample is pretty typical. [att=1]
