I'm trying to do a major upgrade of network in my 100 year old historic house. Uverse install was done over 5 years ago and it's pretty ugly. The house used to be a B&B so had a PBX in the basement. CAT 3 from the NID was split and connected into the old patch panel for my land line and into another CAT 3 that connected to the RG inside the house.
Plan is to relocate the RG in the basement where the patch panel currently is. Would like to run a new CAT 5e from the NID directly to the RG. Can I do this myself or do I really need to get an ATT tech to do this. Once I get the RG relocated in the basement I have the rest of it covered.
Photos attached show what a mess this currently is.There is also a large box next to the NID outside my house - have no idea what that is.
Any comments or advice is welcome.
