Over the past few days AT&T has put up two new user guides.

I thought this was interesting since they never made a self install replacement guide for a 3801 -> NVG589. It has always been NVG589 -> NVG589.
Maybe this is hinting towards more use of the NVG589 and they'll be sending them out in the mail to 3801 users? Maybe it even means that single pair Power is in the works.
Didn't someone say that they wanted to mainly begin using the NVG589 now?
