I am a beginner when it comes to networking and security but I have been tons of online forums for the 3800HGV-B and I have no luck. My objective is trying install the network attached storage Synology 213 air so I can do online file sharing via webpage https with other users. Currently I have installed and can use the NAs locally but I'm having the toughest time trying to get any ports to open 80, 5000, anything. When I do an open port check it shows it as being closed. Another idea i had after reading some other forums use the RG as a modem method and running another router behind the 2wire but I am running into the same issues when it comes to the port being closed. Stuck now is this even possible to do with this router? Can someone share a step by step guide with me.
