buffer bloat and false positive in Netalyzer

I ran into some strange issues with buffer bloat and Netalyzer. I have the 2Wire 3800 RG and to solve its buffer bloat I have a Netgear 3800 LAN side of the RG running Cerowrt firmware and QOS enabled. This has worked great but AT&T increased my upload so I wanted to tweak my QOS setting. I have earlier used Netalyzer to measure the buffer bloat of the RG but this time I was getting strange numbers. I got excessive buffering no matter how low I set the QOS upload. Turns out that Netalyzer can have false positives. :( Instead I tested with a ping test at the same time as a speed test. Without QOS I get ping roundtrip to grow from 25 ms to 500 ms but with the QOS ping round trip only grows to 60 ms. End result is my broadband upload is faster than before (thank you ATT) and I still avoid buffer bloat (thank you Cerowrt/OpenWRT). :D
