I want to know what I can do to get AT&T to offer wireline Internet service.

Quick-ish background: My girlfriend works for AT&T Wireless. Due to her prior position within the company, we needed internet access for her to be able to work from home. We live in Haralson County, Georgia(around Tallapoosa, GA and Buchanan, GA). If Comcast or Charter offers any services, it is basic and most likely cable-television only. AT&T is the only wireline ISP in this area that I am aware of. AT&T offers DSL to Buchanan, GA, and Uverse to Tallapoosa, GA and Bremen, GA(though, all three small towns may have access to Uverse; I do know that Tallapoosa as access to Uverse). Officially, our address is tied to Tallapoosa, but AT&T shows us as a Buchanan, GA address(we live outside all "city" limits, and our home telephone NPA-NXX is Tallapoosa, GA-based). Neither of us(my girlfriend and I) can get a direct answer as to if there will ever be an offering of Internet services to us(or most of the Haralson County populous really). Our only option, thus far, as been through Verizon Wireless. Until relatively recently, AT&T only offered EDGE wireless data service(now UMTS/HSPA), while Verizon Wireless has had LTE out for quite some time(years; though, I have had a far better experience with AT&T UMTS/HSPA and LTE. Verizon Wireless LTE times out quite often, still to this day, so our data use is increased from having to reconnect, or refresh data pulls). Though, given that our last Verizon Wireless bill was $980, I'm ready for a better option. I am working on a potential "fallback" solution("long-distance" wireless transmission of an internet connection, the means of which I am currently debating), if I am unable to achieve satisfaction through traditional avenues. I would prefer to work with AT&T to get wireline Internet service out to our home(and all the other people around us, which several have shown serious interest in). Does anyone have any suggestions, or does anyone know who I can contact that is knowledgeable on the wiring grid, and what, if any, options exist for affordable internet access out here. My girlfriend is most likely going to be working from home again, and I can't fathom spending as much as we are now(or more, which is sickening to think about) for Internet access, when most people are spending 10 percent, or less, than we are for the same access(or, most likely, better, well, more stable access).
