I appreciate any advice and observations from this forum. I understand some of the technical aspects this line is having from reading this forum and UV Realtime documentation. Is this line quality fixable and how? Uverse tech will be out later this week.
ok problem in brief... poor picture quality, stuttering during streaming, definitely worse during prime time hours * nights & weekends. Not to say it is great otherwise, 3000 kbps/ 720p is the best I can get during off hours. I saw 1080p maybe once in the wee hours of the morning. During prime time hours, the Netflix Short video can be as bad as 235 kbps- 1050 kbps and the subsequent very low resolutions that occur with these streams.
Speed tests vary from the same local servers. Can be 25/5, can be 9/2 or anywhere in between. Pings can be in the upper 100's at times, other time 40's.
I am amazed that sometimes the speed test looks fine even though we are having streaming quality issues. Netflix is usually watchable ( even though the poor stats mentioned already) but places like Hulu, Crackle, NBC, Discovery, and other places that stream video, can at times have stuttering so bad- forget trying to watch it.
Background: 1950's neighborhood of maybe 200 or so houses. VRAD is approx 2100 ft away from my home. I have no idea if a N, F or K card. Previously we did also have Uverse TV but now only have Uverse internet and a phone land line ( ATT but not Uverse) . We have the Maxx Turbo plan 24/3 but it looks to me maybe we are on 32/5 (?). I think enough speed that we shouldn't have issues! We have very clean computers, no viruses, or malware, just installed an SSD in a homebuilt that we have used without issues forever (Windows 7 Home Ultimate is hardwired and the main streaming machine), another computer is brand new ( Windows 8.1 hardwired), another is Windows 7 Pro with a wireless connection. Usually only one computer at a time is streaming, maybe another computer on for general surfing/ email.
