I'm trying to get IPv6 running on my home network. I'm pretty sure it should be possible, but I'm not able to ping any public addresses, and I'm hoping someone can help me figure out why.
I have an ASUS RT-AC66U (router) behind a 2Wire 3801HGV (RG) in DMZPlus mode. The RG says IPv6 is "disabled", but my understanding is that's okay because I'll be handling IPv6 on the router.
In the router configuration, I have the following options:
Connection type: 6rd
DHCP: Disable
IPv6 prefix: 2602:306:c492:1ed0::
IPv6 prefix length: 60
IPv4 router: 12.83.49.81
IPv4 router mask length: 0
The router has an IPv6 address, and all of the PCs on the network are getting assigned IPv6 addresses. I can ping the router from the PCs, but if I try to ping Google public DNS (2001:4860:4860::8888) it times out. So something is clearly not right with the configuration.
I've tried a couple of other prefixes and lengths, generated by scripts that people have posted online, but they don't help.
Can someone please help me figure out what I'm missing? It's just frustrating because ATT is so opaque about whether this should even be possible... I'm wondering if they need to provision IPv6 for my account or something?
EDIT: Changed IPv6 prefix, since I read that it's actually a function of your IPv4 address.
