Future U-verse Upgrades

I'm curious what sort of upgrades we can expect to see out of U-verse the next few years? I've read and seen more information around here than anywhere else. It seems the two things that keep getting mentioned are a switch to the 17a profile and vectoring. The 17a profile increases the bandwidth to ~17 Mhz from 8d's ~8 Mhz and vectoring provides a sort of noise cancellation for cleaner lines. I know those are probably overly simplified explanations, but it raises a lot of questions for me. Have they deployed that anywhere yet? What parts of the hardware will they have to upgrade to offer that? In the real world, what sort of increases can we expect from these upgrades? Are there constraints to where each technology can be deployed? I did read that vectoring can only be used when all the lines are under the control of the system as it can't otherwise calculate the necessary noise cancelling signals. That's the only partial answer to my questions above that I have. My particular situation is that I'm ~4100 ft from the VRAD with pair bonded VDSL2, will either upgrade be available to me someday?
