I want my NVG510 to be simply a bridge so that I can use my Apple Time Capsule as my router. I followed the instructions at Ron Berman's help page, item #6, and it all works (in that I have connectivity from the computers on my LAN to the outside world), but the Time Capsule complains about "Double NAT."
According to this post, user "wayjac" stated:
The nvg510 has a "IP Passthrough" option that will do this and there is no double-NAT while using this option.
so, if he's right, I shouldn't be seeing the "Double NAT" complaint -- but I am. There is an option on the Time Capsule simply to ignore the Double NAT, but I'd like it "perfect" if possible.
Questions:
If "wayjac" is correct, why am I getting the "Double NAT" error?
In any case, how can I get rid of the "Double NAT" error? (Would the only way be to root the NVG510 and turn on true bridge mode?)
Assuming I leave things as they presently are, what problem(s) will I have due to double NAT'ing?
Thanks.
