I have a relatively recent triple-play installation, with two TVs on the 300-channel package. One is a wired connection using RJ45 and the other is wireless. Twice now, on one specific HD channel (1754 to be exact), the wireless-connected set displays the program perfectly, while the wired set shows only the "off air" notice although the guide's thumbnail did, on one occasion, display the picture.
When this is happening, adjacent channels on the wired set display normally. The problem exists only on that channel -- which also fails to show the "HD" flag in the guide display despite being advertised as HD and displaying as such on my old DirecTV installation.
My local AT&T network service manager tells me he's never heard of such a happening in the past six years, and suggests that it might be an anomaly with the network feed (OKC Thunder games, on the Fox Sports Southwest network). Last night it was "off air" during the first half but came back on for the commercials and studio break at halftime and then worked properly during the second half, so he's probably correct -- but there must be something strange going on at the interface between Fox and AT&T, since DirecTV never had this problem.
Anyone have any ideas?
