Internet gets progressively slower day by day w/ IP Passthrough

So, I currently have a BGW320-500 AT&T gateway paired with a GL.iNet GL-AX1800 which I plugged in to the LAN port (WAN -> LAN). I used IP Passthrough on my AT&T gateway and setup Wireguard on the GL.iNet router. I also disabled the original WiFi signal from the AT&T gateway. My issue lies with the WiFi connection. I have two WiFi connections on the GL.iNet router: a private network and guest network. The private network is connected to my VPN but the guest network simply uses the AT&T gateway IP address. Everything works great with the VPN connection, but every few days when I try and use the guest network (the WiFi without a VPN) the internet starts to act up and websites are extremelyyyyy slow. To fix it I need to restart the AT&T gateway, which is weird since it works perfectly with the VPN on. What I've noticed is that, when this happens and I disable and re-enable the WireGuard client VPN on the router, it doesn't want to reconnect. It looks like after this mysterious issue occurs when I restart the VPN it refuses to as well... Does anybody have any clue on why this happens? It's super weird that the connection w/ a VPN routing all of the requests works flawlessly when setting it up, but the non-VPN, guest connection (after a few days) starts to get worse and worse. I'm very confused by this. If somebody could help me out that would be awesome. My family relies on internet for work and it's frustrating since they can't use VPNs and have to have a residential IP. Thank you so much :)
