[AT&T Fiber] Yes, AT&T Fiber peering does suck.

I see people all the time say, AT&T Fiber peering is not great. I finally came across an A/B comparison. They are not exactly equal because the CloudFlare connection has full-time encryption enabled. Nevertheless, Cloudflare WARP+ promotes itself as finding the optimal route to the host you are contacting. In this case, you see it dropped ping times from 27ms to 12ms for the same location. Of course, bandwidth was reduced due to encryption overhead but there's still plenty of bandwidth left. I have a Wireguard connection into Cloudflare on my MikroTik edge router. I can add (or turn on/off) route rules for any host on my network (like my PC) to redirect it's traffic via Cloudflare as needed for low latency.
