At&t u-verse surprise speed bump?
We are on the AT&T U-verse High Speed Internet Max plan business account (12Mbps down 1Mbps up) ADSL2+ a few minutes ago I noticed the connection had dropped but when it came back up it had a higher sync rate than normal DSL: Sync Rate in kbps D/S 14398 U/S 1020
Compared to its normal DSL: Sync Rate in kbps D/S 11997 U/S 1020
Anyone else notice anything similar?

Uverse network built, but no availability?
Hey guys, so here in Middle Georgia AT&T is the only service available, when I first moved in 2013 I wasn't able to sign up for any service at all. Got the whole "No ports available". Swore it off for a while.
However, AT&T recently dug about a 3 mile stretch of new wires and boxes, replacing the old stuff I suppose. I excitedly called customer service but was still told there was still no service available. They did say it was Uverse but couldn't tell me when it would be available. It looks as if where they started the new lines, at the source, they left a sizable hole with caution tape up and it's been like that for a few months now.
Anyone experienced with that kind of upgrade? Did they upgrade the lines only to keep the same amount of "ports"? Or have they just not activated the new hookup, hence the hole to come back later?
Thanks!

ATT gigapower -cat5 in closet switch in living room?
Don't hate me but I'm an ATT Entertainment employee who recently had Gigapower installed. The apartment that I have is a brand new development and some of the install has, to be polite, been installed ass backwards. On move in a tech came out to install and realized the only -cat5 capable of pulling the 1000mbps was locating in a bedroom closet. Of course it's where the gateway had to go. He mentioned it was stupid where they put it as opposed to the living room where I have my uverse TV connected. He said I should get 300mbps in the living room but reach out to his private cell in case I didn't. Oddly I have been getting at most around 50mbps and even less in the far bedroom from the initial access point. Reach out to him and he personal brought by a netgear gs108 prosafe gigabit ethernet switch and said put it in the living. I'm assuming the connect from the wall goes into that and both the htpc and uverse DVR receiver plugs into 2 of the other ports. Was the purpose of that to just get a direct connect on those 2 devices or does it boost it even more towards the 1gbps? What effect if any will it have on my TV connect, and can I plug a gigabit amplifier to boost in the far room? Any advice is appreciated. Just hate feeling I pay for this high of speed without the speed...even with an employee discount

GigaPower speed drop after one week - DDoS attack connection?
I had GigaPower installed 12 days ago and have been pleased with the service. For the first week I saw data rates above 900 Mbps both down and up with the upstream rate always a little higher.
Since Friday October 21 the service has slowed considerably to 25-50% of what I was seeing the first week. This is the latest result:
Coincidentally, the slower speeds appeared on the same day the Mirai DDoS attacks began on (mostly) US targets that handle the Internet infrastructure.
Has anyone else seen a recent drop in the speed of their service?

CWMP port open to the world!
Has anyone come across a port scan and seen port 7547 open. After the whole DynDNS DDoS attack last week it got me thinking. After running a port scan I saw that the CWMP port was open to the net. I would think that ATT would block it at the edge since there is no logical reason to be accessing it outside of their organization.
Any thought or input?

New AT&T GigaPower Install... Problems with DMZing Router
Hello all,
Just had GigaPower installed in Wellington, FL. Install went great. I wanted to keep my network, APs and setup the same, so I plugged my old router into the LAN port of the Pace 5268ac. I put the router into DMZplus mode on the Pace and the router got the WAN IP from the Pace.
Speeds are great and TV is great. Only problem is, about every 5 minutes, if connected to my "sub-network" via wired or wireless, you will intermittently loose internet connection every 5 or so miinutes for about 30-45 seconds. However, you can connect to local devices perfectly fine.
What could be causing this? Obviously this has something to do with the Pace RG. How can I fix this?
Thanks!!

Port Forwarding for the Pace 5268AC
I have a Windows 7 and a Windows 10 computer behind my Pace 5268AC router. When I set up the pinhole for one computer using port 3389 with the "RDP" protocol, it works fine. The tool at http://www.portchecktool.com shows port 3389 open. For the second computer, I created a user-defined pinhole with port 3390 TCP. I selected the Windows 10 computer in the router and assigned the user-created application for port 3390 to it. Not only can I not connect to the computer remotely, portchecktool.com does not show the port as open.
I've gone through this process a number of times and have not been successful opening the port. I've followed the instructions meticulously including being sure to hit the "save" button. Nothing I do will open the pinhole.
What am I doing wrong? Both computers were easily accessible with my previous NVG599 router. Since the port is not showing as open, the problem can't be a firewall on the Windows 10 computer (which I turned off before I started using the portchecktool.)

SSH through Gigapower RG?
set up port for SSH passthrough, saved & power-cycled RG (Pace 5268ac), can connect to my Linux box on the internal network from my smartphone & tablet, trying externally via DynDNS mapping fails with connection refused. Any suggestions?

Best Router for Gigapower 1000/1000
As the title states,.. What is the best router to run with Gigapower Gigabit service? I know it may be varied , so just list the ones that 'work' properly with the configuration - and any that have Greater than 1Gbps port(s) -- That are under $500 if they exist.
Secondly, I've heard both ways,.. But does ATT Gigapower allow authentication from a third party user owned router or does it have to go secondary to their own?

Where will gigapower in knoxville be?
I am curious as to where gigapower in knoxville will be deployed. I have heard someone already report they got a sticker placed on their door saying that was coming to their neighborhood. Is there a way I can find out what their plan is regarding the rollout in Knoxville?

Uverse ADSL2+ being flaky after unexpected sync rate change
I'm occasionally getting a really high percentage of dropped packets since the downstream sync rate jumped 2000kbps a few days ago https://www.dslreports.com/forum/r31018115-At-t-u-verse-surprise-speed-bump
I can restart the modem and the problem goes away temporarily. Most of the time it goes away on its own. The modem logs show that it isn't losing connection.
I'm not going to have them come out and replace the modem for $100 again. (at&t business we own our modem and at&t won't warranty them)
the errored seconds looks a bit high to me but I don't know what causes that
Downstream Upstream
SN Margin (dB) 7.8 8.9
Line Attenuation (dB) 37.5 18.2
Output Power(dBm) 18.2 11.9
Errored Seconds 1003 774
Loss of Signal 0 0
Loss of Frame 0 0
FEC Errors 23892 1365
CRC Errors 7477 823
Would the best option be to have them lower the sync rate back down to 11997 and see if the problem goes away? or do I need to buy another modem online?
They say I can upgrade to 18Mbps now but last I checked the max sync rate on my line was 16Mbps should I have them upgrade me and spend the next 6 months letting the techs try to get the connection to do what sales says it can but the techs say it can't?

Not serviceable address?
I noticed at&t digging lines about a month ago near my apartment complex and recently I thought to see if at&t fiber was serviceable in my area. When I looked on the site it sayed that my next door neighbor and multiple units near me are serviceable but I am not. That doesn't make any sense other than that at&t failed to update their database, this is a new apartment complex so I can see why. I tried calling in and the tech agrees that it doesn't make any sense but was stumped on how to update it, same with at&t's online chat. Any way to get at&t to update it as I am literally 5 feet away from my serviceable neighbor?

proxy
I have U-Verse Internet only- I ping Ip address (207.246.147.250) to find out my latency time and the ping keeps saying packet filtered 100% packet loss. Google says there is a transparent proxy cache for this site, causing the slow down.
Been having a very bad problem with speeds to this one web site for the last month. Every other web site runs fine.

based on this map of fiber in NW OKC when will i potentially get gigapower?
so the newer houses in my neighborhood have fiber from att however my house was a couple months older than the house right across the street and I only have access to 18mbit so I am with cox because they offer 300.
I would just like to know if anyone has been in a similar situation and if so how long did it take before you could get access to gigapower?
Thanks
here is an image where everything circled in red has access to gigabit and everything else does not. it also shows how close my house is to the fiber its literally a baseball throw away
